CAISSA CONSEQUENCES FOR RULES VIOLATIONS: |
Grade 11 and Under: Drug, Alcohol, Tobacco, Curfew or other Serious Violation:
The Athlete will automatically be banned from participation in CAISSA events for one year, (the next three athletic seasons). The Athlete will be able to earn back the 3rd season by completing 50 hours of community service at their home school. Athlete will no longer be allowed to participate in the current tournament Athlete will be removed from his host’s home and housed with his/her coach. Athlete will not be eligible for athletic awards at the end of the year athletic banquet for the sport in which the violation occurred. Athlete may be sent home at parent’s expense. Any other consequences will be enforced by the athlete’s school administration in accordance with individual school policies. If athletes from more than one school were engaged in the same illicit behavior, every effort will be made to make those school consequences comparable between CAISSA schools and comparable from year to year. Drug and alcohol violations may also require additional counseling considerations to be discussed by parents and home school administration on a case by case basis. Grade 12 Graduates: Drug, Alcohol, Tobacco, Curfew or other Serious Violation:
In the case of any drug, alcohol, tobacco or curfew violation, the Athlete will automatically be banned from participation in CAISSA events for the remainder of the school year. The graduating student will have to fulfill 50 hours of school community service, (directly benefiting the school). In addition to any previously assigned community service agreements, in order to participate in the graduation ceremony and receive their diploma and transcripts upon graduation.
